Distributed mainly north from the main land of Japan. Causes net blotch of
grasses such as orchardgrass and fescue. Sometimes isolated from other grasses or
gramineous weeds. Disperses by scattering conidia. Teleomorph rarely observed in
nature.
Characteristics: Plant pathogen
| Morphology: Teleomorph: In black pseudothecia producing cylindrical asci. Ascospores hyaline to pale brown, boat-shaped, 33-35 x 15-24 um in size with 1-2 vertical and 3 transverse septa. Anamorph: On conidiophores, producing conidia pale yellow brownto light brown, straight, cylindrical, rather tapered to the tip, 20-250 x 14-20 um in size with 4-7 pseudosepta. |
