現在の研究内容

  1. 2001年から(現在も進行中)、環境省の地球環境研究総合推進費、地球環境保全試験研究費(地球一括)、独立行政法人科学技術振興機構の戦略的国際科技術協力推進事業(日本(JST)−中国(MOST)研究交流)などの課題で、標高3250mの青海高山草原生態系と、標高4300mのチベット高原湿地草原生態系で継続的にCO2フラックス、H2Oフラックスとエネルギーフラックスおよび関連生物気象環境の長期観測と既存データ解析により、温帯高山草原生態系おけるCO2フラックスに影響及ぼす生物気象環境の時間的空間的変動の解明を行っている。
  2.  2007年より、DNA鑑定による黄砂の付着病原菌の同定について、中国乾燥地および日本での黄砂観測、黄砂発生および輸送の研究を行っている。近年、大量発生の黄砂は中国だけではなく、日本の多くの地域にも飛来しマスコミを騒がせた。特に、黄砂は健康への被害が懸念されるようになっている。日本では黄砂によると思われるアレルギー現象が増加し、鼻炎、くしゃみ、鼻水などに悩まされる患者の数が年々増えているといわれている。さらに、黄砂発生と同時期に、家畜の口蹄疫、豚コレラ、SARS、鳥インフルエンザなどが、中国、アジアを中心に発生して大問題となっている。この内、特に口蹄疫や豚コレラは中国からの黄砂や大気汚染物質等に付着して飛来することが疑われている。日本で長年発見されなかった口蹄疫は近年になって再び発見された。このため、本研究では、中国と日本国内で黄砂を観測し、黄砂に付着した口蹄疫等病原菌やウイルス、またアレルゲンをDNA・RNA鑑定によって同定し、その伝染ルートなど解明しようとするものである。
  3.  2006年より、防風ネットや被覆資材等によるイネ、トウモロコシの交雑抑制シミュレーションについて、数値シミュレーション研究を行っている。遺伝子組換え農作物が一般圃場で栽培された場合、組換え農作物と周辺圃場で栽培される非組換え農作物との交雑の可能性があり、導入遺伝子の農業生態系への拡散が懸念される。組換え農作物の環境安全性を確保するためには、主要組換え農作物について花粉飛散や交雑に関する知見を蓄積し、抑制技術を開発することが重要かつ緊急の課題である。交雑を抑制する方法の1つとして、防風ネットなどによって風を弱め、花粉の舞い上がりを抑制する技術や花粉の拡散を抑制する技術等が考えられる。しかし、これらの技術を農家圃場規模で利用する際、その抑制効果を評価するための現地観測を全てのケースについて行うことは困難である。そこで、本研究では、防風ネットなど防風施設や被覆資材などによる交雑抑制効果を解析し評価するための数値シミュレート手法を開発する。この手法は、遺伝子組換え作物を実際に栽培する場合などに、効率的な交雑抑制方法を策定するために活用できる。
  4.  2005年より、地球温暖化の早期検出と早期予測のため、チベットにおける山地気象条件と植物の関係について、観測研究を行っている。地球温暖化に対する生態系レベルの反応は、しばらく経ってから顕著になる。温暖化によって、チベット高原生態系の構造と機能が急激に変化し、温暖化の影響が早期にかつ大きく表れることが考えられている。そこで、この研究では、このチベット高原生態系を利用し、温暖化の影響の早期検出と早期予測を目的とした。そのため、温暖化に特に敏感に反応すると考えられるチベット高原の植生限界面付近において、詳細な気象データを蓄積し、標高3250mの青海高山草原生態系で、CO2フラックス、H2Oフラックスとエネルギーフラックスおよび関連生物気象環境の長期モニタリングと既存データ解析により、温帯高山草原生態系におけるCO2フラックスに影響を及ぼす物理環境の時間的空間的変動を解明する。さらに、そのベースとして、標高4500mまで、また4200から5500mまでの山沿いで、気象要素(気温、湿度、風向、風速、日射量、降水量等)を長期間モニタリングし、温暖化の早期検出や生態系への影響予測のための手法を開発することを目指す。
